The initiators and organisers of SoundTrack_Cologne have been addressing the topic music in films / music in the media intensively for many years, many of them from more than just one angle. Apart from the founders of the North-Rhine Westphalia based association of media composers MediaMusic:nrw, Matthias Hornschuh and Hans-Jürgen Ploenes Mercad, Matthias Kapohl, the former head of the European University Meeting of the International Film Music Biennial Bonn, producer Michael P. Aust and Frankfurter Rundschau film editor and cinema pianist Daniel Kothenschulte, there are professionals from the cinema and distribution field such as Sigrid Limprecht (Bonner Kinemathek, Kino in der Brotfabrik, Rapid Eye Movies) as well as an advisory committee made up of well-known journalists, critics, academics from the fields of film, music, and art, and film producers.
