PEER-RABEN-MUSIC-AWARD at SoundTrack_Cologne 10 · November 21-24, 2013
SoundTrack_Cologne again awards the prize for the best music in a short film for young upcoming composers: the PEER-RABEN-MUSIC-AWARD.
For the PEER-RABEN-MUSIC-AWARD which has been awarded for the first time in 2009 SoundTrack_Cologne is looking again for the best music to a short film. Awarded will be film scores where the relationship between the narration and the music and sound is innovative and dramaturgically clear.
All short films whose production was completed after 1st January 2012, or which had their premiere after 1st January 2012, are eligible for submission. All films with a maximum duration of 15 minutes (no longer films will be accepted!), and in any industry standard format, will be considered. There are no restrictions regarding country of production, genre, or content. The film music must mainly have been written for the film. Submission for the PEER-RABEN-MUSIC-AWARD is also possible via the online-platform reelport (www.reelport.com). If you apply via reelport please ALWAYS indicate the composer! The prize is worth 1.500 euro. The modalities for submission can also be found on the SoundTrack_Cologne homepage.
Entry deadline for the competition was 30th July 2013.
The twelve finalists will present their work (films, compositions) to the jury and the audience. The prize will be awarded at the official gala on 23rd November 2013.

SoundTrack_Cologne is the German festival of music and sound in film and media. Since its inception, with its congress as well as festival programme, SoundTrack_Cologne has developed into the leading platform for music in film and the media in the German-speaking world.
The film programme SEE THE SOUND is dedicated specifically to the combination of moving image and music, and presents the best examples of music documentaries, artistic films about music and musicians, biopics about musicians or bands, discerning documentaries about concerts, or portraits of bands, short films and music videos.
With SEE THE SOUND SoundTrack_Cologne aims to display the wide spectrum of connections between image and sound and offer outstanding music films a platform to be presented to a professional public.
SoundTrack_Cologne 10 now invites all those working in film, producers and distributors, to submit music documentaries, artistic films about music and musicians, short films with a focus on music and music videos for its film programme.
For the first time a Prize for the Best Music Documentary will be awarded in the context of See the Sound. The Prize will be worth 2.500 Euro.
Films and music videos whose production was completed in 2012 or 2013 or which had their premiere at a festival after 1st January 2012 can be submitted. Films in any industry standard format, music videos as quicktime.mov 720 x 576 PAL, will be considered. There are no restrictions regarding country of production.
We only accept screeners in DVD format.
